![]() However, at face value I think Beat's a generally less satisfying kit, since self-damage isn't particularly common and Reflector Gem has anti-synergy with Flak Jacket. All in all.ĭesign wise, Beat Reva emphasizes Reva's armour theme in a fresh way and continues her low-and-situational-damage theme. I love it being in this kit since it lets you double dip on Flak Jacket procs, it fits the theme really well. This makes Beat Reva really easy to set up a kill on the Shopkeeper, since you don't need any RNG/seed to get the Soul Link. This emphasizes the timing aspect of the kit really well, since taking a huge slew of hits without Steel Skin can really overwhelm your armour. Just generally this card is really excellent, so getting it for free at the start and procing 20 damage off of it every use is really nice. I love that a card that, alone, does absolutely nothing but hurt you is so good and Beat Reva is the perfect place to showcase it. ![]() Pinch is such a good skill, for 0 mana and at worst 1 health, activating Panther Habit, Adaptive Armour, Thornmail, and obviously the in-built Flak Jacket, it's just so subtly excellent. On the other hand, Reflector Gem is relatively easier to cast frequently with this build since your starting kit isn't nearly as mana hungry. Reflector Gem + Pinch = 1 damage, not worth the mana at all. Reflecting an attack (or self damage) only gives you the shot from the Reflector Gem, and no shot from Flak Jacket. It has a bit of a feel-bad anti-synergy with Flak Jacket. Reflector Gem is still an excellent tool to deal with enemies when used well, and is even more important to use early on due to your even greater lack of clear damage options within your kit. I'm just going to build GoodStuff.Deck and ignore that I even have this." One cool thing about Flak Jacket is that it works with spell power - and for that fact I kind of wish that it fired more bullets for less damage - then there'd be another build path that plays into the kit's power, rather than it ending up being something that I sort of say, "Eh. " However, against targets that can spit out tons of hits quickly, it can really pop off - so it's a give and take I suppose. There's not too many things that make me think, "Oh, this is really good with. There's relatively few ways to activate Flak Jacket by yourself, and two of them are already given to you, which makes this kit a lot less exciting than it could be in my mind. ![]() That parity between the kits is really satisfying. Similarly, Shield Reva's kit says to the player, "Run around! Dodge! Weave in for your hits!" And Beat Reva says, "Think about which row you're in, take your time, line yourself up with enemies and get hit." Meanwhile, Beat Reva plays with the idea that you want to get lots of armour so that you can actively try to lose it while in the right position. ![]() Shield Reva plays with the idea that you want to get lots of armour but avoid getting hit so that you can use it with Shield Toss. The starting deck holds a disadvantage against treasure chests. When do you choose to trigger Flak Jacket vs Reflecting? ![]() Hit self for 40 damage and gain 100 Shield.Īre there any cards, artifacts, or builds you lean towards for Beat Reva?
